WE'RE CELEBRATING AS COLCHESTER'S HANNAH STODEL IS SELECTED FOR TEAM GB.

Here at Cooper Colchester, we're celebrating with local sailor Hannah Stodel, as the British Paralympic Association have announced that she's on her way to the London 2012 Games.
Mersea-based Hannah has been sailing from an early age and has been training hard to be a part of the London 2012 Games. Now aged 25, Hannah's determination and hard work had paid off as she has been announced as part of the Team GB, where she will compete as part of a three-person keelboat crew in the sailing event.
Hannah has already competed at the 2008 Beijing Paralympic Games and won gold in the 2009 Paralympic World Cup. She also recently won gold at the Miami Olympic Classes Regatta, which is sure to have helped her bid for selection.
BMW is the Official Automotive Partner of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic games, and we're proud to have been supporting Hannah on her journey to the Games.
The participants of ParalympicsGB are selected by the British Paralympic Association in conjunction with the national governing bodies of the 26 sports that the team will compete in. Hannah has had to train hard to get to this point, but now the real work begins and we will continue to support her all the way to the 2012 Games.
Hannah commented "It's weird in some ways as we never expected to be selected this early and it's crazy to think that we're the first athletes to be officially selected for 2012! It's great that the selectors have that much faith in us we now have to look forward to the next 12 months and carrying on the hard work we've been putting in.
We'll have our new boat ready soon she' called Mandeville, through kind permission of LOCOG so we'll be spending the autumn and winter getting to grips with her and getting her ready.
It would be a dream come true to win a medal in London 2012, it's what we've been working towards for so long. We've been to two Games before and I don't want any more free t-shirts I want a medal this time!"
